The Heart of
Scottsville Main Street program seeks a qualified
individual to continue the revitalization of
Scottsville’s historic downtown as executive
director. Since its inception in 2002, the Heart of
Scottsville has been certified as a Renaissance on
Main city and has helped generate more than $4
million in downtown investment. Capitalizing on
this momentum, the new executive director will
facilitate the continued transformation of this
idyllic small town.
Responsibilities
include the day-to-day operations of the Main Street
office and execution of Main Street initiatives
under the areas of Organization, Promotion, Design
and Economic Restructuring. The ideal candidate will
have excellent organization, computer, and
communication skills along with the ability to
negotiate, facilitate and implement long term,
strategic plans. He or she will also be able to
work both independently and in conjunction with the
Heart of Scottsville board, local organizations, and
civic leaders. Experience in downtown
re-development or real estate, preservation,
marketing, grant writing, and project management
also vital. Finally, the candidate needs to have a
positive, enthusiastic attitude.
This position
requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree
preferred.

Staff Planner
The City of Frankfort is accepting applications for
the position of Staff Planner. This position will
work with the public and staff; assist in the
filling out of applications with applicants; file;
conduct reviews for site plans, subdivisions,
historical buildings, building permits, and
variances; answer phones and general citizen
questions; prepare files and reports for several
Boards; and assist other planners, inspectors, and
director as needed.
Requirements of
Position:
Minimum requirements are comprehensive statements of
the minimum background as to education, experience,
and other qualifications, which will be required in
all cases as evidence of an appointee’s ability to
perform the work properly. Must have the
ability to follow oral and written instructions,
extremely organized, work well with others, and have
strong customer service experience. Must possess a
Kentucky Drivers License. Education: Minimum
bachelor’s degree in planning or related field.
Experience: Two years of related work
experience, preference may be given to those with
AICP, knowledge of GIS, and more than two years of
planning experience. Special Requirements: Proficient
with current Microsoft Word, Excel, and related
computer software, as well as, previous planning
experience. Must be able to communicate effectively,
both orally and verbally, with other employees.
The City of Frankfort provides an excellent benefits
package in addition to a starting salary range of
$35,881-$38,066.
